We worked with Schifsky along side our Blaiser pool install. We worked with Brandon who was a great communicator and easy to get ahold of. One main reason we went with them was we were told seamless transition between pool install and landscaping. I didn’t want to sit with dirt for a long time. They delivered on their promise and were here the last day of pool install to get things moving. We had one rain day during the project and they worked that weekend to remain on schedule. That was much appreciated. All in all it was a great process and we would recommend their services.
Pool Backyards in Woodbury, MN
We have built three complete pool backyards in Woodbury, more than in any other city in our portfolio, and they cover the range: a $430,000 golf course lot in Prestwick, a $425,000 resort-style yard with a louvered pergola and cabana, and a $120,000 landscape finished around a pool the same summer it went in. The pools were installed by Blaiser Pools, our sister company. Everything you see around them is ours.
Three Woodbury Pool Backyards · Pools by Blaiser Pools · Everything Else by Schifsky
Woodbury is where we have built the most pool backyards, and the reason is simple: the lots are big enough for a full-size pool, many of the neighborhoods are newer so the backyard often arrives as sod and nothing else, and the city is about 15 minutes from our Lake Elmo office and showroom. Life on the Fairway in Prestwick, Woodbury Poolside and Poolside on the Hill are all on this page, each with its real cost.
On every one of them the pool shell was installed by Blaiser Pools, the sister company we share ownership with, and our crew designed and built the rest: the deck, the fence, the grading that keeps rain out of the pool, the pergola or cabana, the kitchen and fire table, the plantings and the lighting. Because the two companies plan the job together, the deck base starts the day the pool is set and the yard is finished the same season instead of sitting as dirt until next year.

- Paver or porcelain pool deck sized for loungers and a dining table
- Grading and drainage so rain runs away from the pool, not into it
- Code-compliant aluminum fence with self-closing, self-latching gates
- Louvered pergola or cabana for shade
- Outdoor kitchen, bar and fire table
- Boulder or block walls and steps where the lot slopes
- Low-litter plantings, lighting and lawn to the deck edge
- HOA drawings and city permit coordination
Why Woodbury Pool Backyards Get Built in One Plan
Many Woodbury neighborhoods have HOA design review, and the city, like most metro cities, sets setbacks for the pool and its equipment and reviews how much of the lot is covered by hard surface. When the pool and the landscape are designed together in 3D, the pool sits where the deck, fence and pergola want it, the drawings for the HOA and the permit come from one plan, and nothing has to be moved after the shell is in the ground. All three projects on this page were built that way.
How a Woodbury Pool Backyard Comes Together
Two companies, one plan, one accountable team on site.
Design the Whole Yard
Pool, deck, fence, shade, kitchen, plantings and lighting designed together in 3D at your home or in the Lake Elmo showroom, with the HOA and permit drawings produced from the same plan.
Pool Installation by Blaiser Pools
Our sister company excavates and sets the fiberglass shell, plumbs it and backfills it, on the schedule our crew is building around.
Deck the Day the Pool Is Set
Our crew starts the deck base as soon as the shell is backfilled, the way Poolside on the Hill was done, so the yard never sits as dirt.
Fence, Walls, Shade and Kitchen
Aluminum fence and gates, any boulder or block walls behind the pool, then the pergola, cabana, kitchen and fire feature.
Plantings, Lighting and the Walkthrough
Low-litter plantings, lighting and lawn to the deck edge, then a walkthrough before the first swim.
Which Woodbury Pool Backyard Looks Like Yours?
Life on the Fairway, Prestwick, $430,000 complete
A full-size pool with a wide paver deck, a pergola-covered lounge with a fire table and a backyard putting green on a golf course lot. The figure is the complete project including the pool.
Woodbury Poolside, $425,000 complete
A rectangular pool with a tanning ledge in an expansive paver patio, a louvered aluminum pergola, a built-in kitchen and bar, a linear fire table and a poolside cabana with a changing room.
Poolside on the Hill, $120,000 landscape only
A new pool finished the same season: large-format porcelain deck, black aluminum fence, boulder retaining and steps up the slope, river-rock beds, path lighting and fresh lawn. The pool itself is separate from the figure.

We price by scope, not by city, and the three Woodbury projects on this page are the clearest reference points we have. A complete pool-and-backyard build runs $200,000 to $430,000 or more: the fiberglass pool itself is about $130,000 installed through Blaiser Pools, and the landscape around it typically adds $75,000 to $150,000 for the deck, fence, grading, plantings and lighting before a pergola, cabana or kitchen. Poolside on the Hill came in at $120,000 for the landscape alone; Woodbury Poolside and Life on the Fairway at $425,000 and $430,000 as complete projects with every feature. Plunge pools bring the pool side down to $85,000 to $130,000; see the plunge pool page.
- Pool size and modelA plunge pool and a full-size rectangle with a tanning ledge sit at opposite ends of the range.
- Deck size and materialPorcelain and large-format pavers cost more per square foot than standard pavers; deck area is the biggest landscape line.
- GradeA sloped Woodbury lot means walls and steps behind the pool, as at Poolside on the Hill.
- Shade and kitchenA louvered pergola, cabana, outdoor kitchen and fire table are what separate the $120,000 scope from the $425,000 one.
What Pool Owners Say About the Blaiser and Schifsky Hand-Off
Real Google reviews. Read more reviews.
We installed an inground pool this summer through Blaiser Pools, and Schifsky Companies partnered with them on the project. Our lead from Schifsky, Adam Skowronek, was outstanding. He created detailed 3D renderings that helped us visualize the final landscaping, and he handled every change we requested with patience and professionalism. We’re truly grateful for the care, skill, and hard work Adam and his team put into making our project a success.
When we first started looking into building an outdoor patio and pool area, we honestly weren’t sure our property would even allow the backyard we were dreaming of. … our project manager, Adam Skowronek, somehow designed something even better than we could have imagined. … Now that everything is complete, we honestly still catch ourselves looking out the window and thinking, “I can’t believe this is our backyard.”
