Schifsky Companies was founded in Stillwater in 1989, so this is home ground for us. From the bluffs above the St. Croix to newer neighborhoods like Liberty and Legends, we design and build patios, boulder retaining walls, pools and complete landscapes that suit Stillwater’s terrain and character.
Our family-owned team has spent 37+ years building patios, pools, pergolas, outdoor kitchens, fire features, retaining walls and complete landscapes across the Twin Cities. Every Stillwater project is designed in 3D first and built by one accountable crew - on schedule and clearly communicated.
Schifsky Companies started in Stillwater in 1989, and the town still has the widest range of sites we work on anywhere: steep bluff lots above the St. Croix with historic homes and tight access, mid-century neighborhoods on the hill, and newer developments like Liberty on the Lake and Legends with blank-slate backyards and HOA review.
Room to Gather, a patio and stoop renovation on an established Stillwater lot, and The Backyard Barn, a pool finished beside a pole barn on a wooded property, are both on this page. Bluff and hillside lots usually start with grading, boulder or block walls and drainage; the newer neighborhoods start with a complete plan so the patio, pergola and plantings are built once, in the right order.
